This week, Yoast announced that Yoast SEO has now launched on Shopify meaning that, much like the WordPress version of the app, Shopify merchants can use it to optimise their products and posts to appear in organic, non-shopping results.
How much does it cost?
Yoast SEO for Shopify costs $29 (£21.30) per 30 days, unlike the WordPress version of the app, which you can get for free or upgrade to Yoast SEO premium ($99/£72.32).
Why Shopify is so popular
Shopify is quickly becoming one of the most popular ecommerce platforms with over 800,000 retailers, big and small, using it for their online stores.
Many businesses had to pivot during the pandemic, turning to online functionality rather than relying on in-person buying, and many went straight to Shopify. And it’s easy to see why. Shopify comes with a range of benefits, including:
- You can add as many products as you want
- You can integrate other channels such as Facebook or Pinterest to easily track sales
- There is an in-built fraud analysis
- Abandon cart email feature allows you to recapture lost sales
- 24/7 Shopify support that includes email and live chat
SEO themed YoastCon
To celebrate the launch, Yoast are even hosting a specially themed YoastCon. Detailing the event, they said in their announcement:
“An online YoastCon – Shopify edition that will take place on the 20th of January. During this event, you can expect lots of interesting SEO talks by experts in this field, like Aleyda Solis, Lily Ray, Mike King, our own Marieke van de Rakt, Willemien Hallebeek, Jono Alderson, Thijs de Valk, and yours truly. Plus, we have Kevin Indig and Jackson Lo from Shopify joining! Attend our YoastCon to learn all about SEO for online stores and how Yoast SEO in Shopify works.”
