Barburrito customers have said ¡Hola! to spice as they introduced the new, limited edition, Piri Piri burrito. The Mexican restaurant giant has continued its relationship with Forever Agency to roll out the campaign across the UK.
Piri Piri launched across the UK Barburrito joints in November 2018, turning up the heat on its Mexican fan base by introducing a bit of spice to the dish. The Piri Piri burrito is filled with grilled chicken marinated in flaming Piri Piri spices… combining the Mexican icon with a smattering of South African zing.
Eimile Kerrigan, Digital Campaign Manager at Forever states, “Marrying Mexican and South African flavours was easy for the palate, but we were initially sceptical around the campaign message for the Barburrito brand. After some initial onsite research with customers, our confidence that Piri Piri could be a go-to choice for the many, not the few, quickly grew. We’re pleased that our simple retro typographic campaign helped increase sales by over 11% on the previous edition campaign and the response across Instagram and Facebook was the best to date in the 14-year history of Barburrito”
Barburrito is also helping young people with Cancer by donating 10p from every Piri Piri burrito to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Every day in the UK, seven young people aged between 13 – 24 get told they have cancer. The Teenage Cancer Trust provide specialist care and support to these young people.
The Piri Piri burrito proved to be a huge hit with Barburrito fans, raising over £3,000 for the charity. Barburrito’s long-standing support of this charity have seen their efforts raise over £30,000 since the beginning of the partnership.
