Styling Hold Fast Bar’s Social Media Photography

Hold Fast is an old fashioned nautical themed bar placed under Hatters Hotel Hostel in The Northern Quarter Manchester. Hold Fast have been a great client to work with from the start, giving us tremendous freedom to try different methods on social media and have never failed to throw a few pints our way.

As a digital branding agency we couldn’t let anyone get away with posting phone photographs on their social media channels.

By organising  a shoot for events and drinks, we hold to make sure their social media stands shoulder to shoulder with heavy competition of the Northern Quarter leisure industry.

The method behind these photos his simple. Pulling inspiration from the gritty underground, nautical and nostalgic theme of the bar, we used an old Leica camera with a 50mm lens and styled it to match Fuji 400 Superia film. Paired with using the ambient light of the bar and a small back light, we achieved a superior style of photography that the represents the strong brand of the bar.

 

It is small details like this, that help us achieve the difference between general social media campaigns and a social media campaign that considers a brand as #1 when it comes to running accounts for clients.
